This course provides numerous best practices and teaching protocols to streamline your planning for literacy work with ALL students, especially for English learners. No need to find more hours in the day! These best practices are easily embedded into any curriculum and any context!

In this course, you will:

review English proficiency levels and how to utilize them in targeting and scaffolding your instruction;
examine best practices for creating a language-rich classroom foundation; and
Practice strategies that develop vocabulary and sentence-level literacy and integrate oral language/discourse into reading and writing.

This 15 hour course is asynchronous and self-paced with a dedicated course facilitator to guide you. You can earn 1 graduate credit through UMass Global for this course for a fee of an additional $75. More information available upon enrollment.
